ABOUT PORCELAIN

It is a ceramic raw material with a unique personality. The composition of porcelain has changed since its appearance in China. Nowadays, it is composed of the following minerals: kaolin, feldspar, quartz, and clay. What sets porcelain apart from other types of ceramics are its resistance (hardness) and color (white). It is a material with closed pores, which gives it great impermeability, making it an extremely hygienic material. In the end, porcelain acquires a delicacy and lightness that make it extremely elegant.

"It is during the process that the traces of its personality are noticed. When modeling, the paste must be stretched in various directions so that it does not retain any memories. Then, while drying in the air, it is necessary to take care that it does not try to change its shape. After this drying, it is necessary to correct some imperfections, but this must be done with great skill, or they will break in a second. Then the best ones will be baked. Here, the porcelain will reach 1270°C in a process that should take up to ten hours. Then it's just a matter of assembling.

ABOUT THE WOMAN

I found in porcelain the peace of disconnecting and yet staying connected. I made moments of modeling, moments of introspection, learning, challenge, and tranquility. Giraffe has always been my nickname, or the name (supposedly not very affectionate) that some people used to refer to me. I'm a woman who is 1.81m tall and I've always been the tallest among all the kids. I never had any complexes about it and fortunately I never cared that they called me giraffe, after all, they are beautiful, enormous, majestic, confident, and independent. They stand out in the savannah for their size but also for being herbivores. I find it amazing that in the animal world where the law is to hunt or be hunted, the giraffe is there, living life to the fullest, calm, carefree, and totally autonomous.
